Portfolio of Photographic Work

Remember September

Remember September is a body of work that brings war home to the United States. Driven by a desire to tell the American Public what the intervention they so crave in other nations would look like here at home, and question the legitimacy and willingness then to do so.

Friday Night

Friday Night is an ongoing body of work that contrasts the realities of life in Afghanistan and other combat zones with the social world of the United States - particularly in the context that an 18 year old American can find themselves either here or there.

The images are shot either digitally using an SLR, on 120/220 roll film or on 4x5 sheet film.

Apparitions

Apparitions was a body of work that I photographed with a 4x5 View Camera while slogging up and down mountains recording battle drills. Through the lens I discovered a connection to the environment and the operator, between the silence of the silver gelatin print and the real world before me.

Amnesis

Amnesis is an ongoing project looking at how memory and event are recorded and redrawn each time we think back in our brain. The work is inspired in the notion of how an entire event or feeling was captured in a single moment.

This work is captured on 120/220 roll and 4x5" sheet film, while the work appears here digitally the scanned negatives have not been altered.
